the Heart of Lightning

there is no dark side to love.
that is the thing which breaks the chains
of infinite duality. all is polar, except Love.
It is the Light which casts no shadow
the wind without the storm
the war without the bloodshed
the flame without the warmth
the plane without a pilot
the forest with no pine
the arrow in the quiver
the point to all this time

shadow holds no weight,
there is no light in darkness.
and that’s how all’s made whole.
the light penetrates the bondage
of object to its pole
for light has no such boundary
and therefore cracks the chain
and yet in forming darkness
the balance still remains

for darkness is no thing
and for it holds no body
it weighs more than man can bear
and herein lies the shadow
of darkness
in Light we’re whole

God was not mistaken
no flaw in Genesis.
The light which lit the boundary
the poison in the kiss
the choice to fall from freedom
into the chains of hell
prepared the path from darkness
into the gates up there

and so unto the ceilings
we’re not made for these floors
and yet our feet are bloodied
we need not feet no more
so off the marble bounding
in pathetically perfect spring
our arms forget their quandary
and give away to wings

so through the clouds we conquered
and came to hold below
there is the end of terror
let in the Lights you know
Let in the Light you hold
And feel the gold
embrace the sin
and wring it from your hips
it’s when we’re caught and falling
we’ve left the sinking ship
if only our velocity
can free us from the snow
it’s then you let Him linger
give up the gold and know
there is no weight to conquer
no mountain we won’t climb
for all shall be uncovered
there is no point in time
for we are not Earth’s creatures
we came from land beyond
immortal in our nature
awake without a yawn
awake without a boundary
and bounding from below
into the Heart of Lightning
became the Love we know
